Following the steps of MoP RPO trajectory, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and now Andhra Pradesh has notified its Renewable Power Purchase Obligation and its Compliance, regulations which will be effective from April 17, 2017.<br \/>\nThe regulation will be applicable to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The distribution licensee<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Or any person, consuming electricity procured from conventional sources through open access third party sale,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Every consumer owning a captive generating plant of installed capacity 1 MW and above and synchronized with the Grid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe table below shows the Minimum Quantum of Purchase in percentage (%) from renewable sources (in terms of energy in kWh) of total consumption:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/44.224.164.21\/new__w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/APERC-TABLE.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3874\" title=\"APERC TABLE\" src=\"http:\/\/44.224.164.21\/new__w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/APERC-TABLE.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"659\" height=\"131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/APERC-TABLE.png 659w, https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/APERC-TABLE-300x60.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 659px) 100vw, 659px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe said obligations will be applicable on total consumption of electricity by an obligated entity, excluding consumption met from hydro electric sources of power.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Analysis:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RPO to be applied on co-generation power<\/li>\n<li>The distribution licensees shall compulsorily procure 100% power produced from all the Waste-to-Energy plants in the State, in the ratio of their procurement of power from all sources.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0Consumption from hydro sources to be excluded<\/li>\n<li>RPO % is proposed to increase steeply \u2013 from 11.50% in 2016-17 to 17% in 2018-19 line with the MoP Trajectory.<\/li>\n<li>The graph given below gives a comparison between the MoP recent RPO Trajectory and APERC\u2019s RPO Trajectory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/44.224.164.21\/new__w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MoP-APERC.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3875\" title=\"MoP &amp; APERC\" src=\"http:\/\/44.224.164.21\/new__w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MoP-APERC.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"481\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MoP-APERC.png 481w, https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MoP-APERC-300x180.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 481px) 100vw, 481px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe regulation can be accessed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aperc.gov.in\/aperc1\/assets\/uploads\/files\/9417c-draft-regulation.pdf\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Power (MoP) had recently declared the national RPO trajectory. \u00a0The order had enlisted the yearly RPO trajectory for both non-solar and solar power purchase from 2016-17 till 2018-19.
