{"id":3232,"date":"2015-07-02T12:04:29","date_gmt":"2015-07-02T06:34:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/blog\/?p=3232"},"modified":"2015-07-02T12:04:29","modified_gmt":"2015-07-02T06:34:29","slug":"gerc-enforces-rpo-regulation-on-captive-and-oa-consumers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/gerc-enforces-rpo-regulation-on-captive-and-oa-consumers\/","title":{"rendered":"GERC RPO Regulation Applicable on Captive and OA consumers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) in a notification dated 1<sup>st<\/sup> July 2015, has made \u00a0RPO (Renewable Purchase Obligation) regulation applicable\u00a0on captive and Open Access consumers of the state.<br \/>\nThe quantum of RPO applicable on the OA and Captive users will be same as for the distribution licensee. The percentages of RPO targets applicable in the state are shown in the graph below:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/44.224.164.21\/new__w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GERC-RPO-Targets.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3234\" title=\"GERC RPO Targets\" src=\"http:\/\/44.224.164.21\/new__w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GERC-RPO-Targets.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GERC-RPO-Targets.png 599w, https:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GERC-RPO-Targets-300x178.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nEarlier the RPO regulation was not applicable for Captive and OA users as there were ambiguities among the regulations of various states and the pending court cases by affected stakeholders, caused the major issues for applicability of RPO on such consumer. \u00a0But with the recent Supreme Court Judgement (<a href=\"http:\/\/reconnectenergy.com\/blog\/2015\/05\/analysis-of-supreme-court-judgment-on-applicability-of-renewable-purchase-obligations\/\"><strong>Read here<\/strong><\/a>) on the issue has cleared all the major doubts, and as results we have seen good response in the recent trade sessions\u00a0and also some states coming forward and enforcing RPO regulation on the OA and captive users.<br \/>\nThe recent Notification of the GERC can be read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gercin.org\/regulationspdf\/en_1435749868.pdf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) in a notification dated 1st July 2015, has made \u00a0RPO (Renewable Purchase Obligation) regulation applicable\u00a0on captive and Open Access consumers of the state.
